Is bad for SEO if you change your server?

    Hello,

I have a website hosted by Godaddy.com. I have actually another hosting account by hostmonster.com. I would like to move my website from Godaddy to HostMonster because I find HostMonster better than Godaddy.

I would like to know if it is bad for SEO when I do that. I have over 800 internal links and many back links to my website.

    Regards,
    ameran

If all the page urls remain the same, it should not have an adverse affect.

If the hosting is better it may help rather than hurt.

Try to have as little downdown as possible when you make the switch.

If you perform the steps of the transfer in the right order then no one and nothing apart from you, the two hosting providers, and your domain registrar will ever know that the move took place.

The searchengines follow the URL and the content of the web pages. So you wouldn't have any troubles if your site is visible and if there are not changes in database and scripting that might confuse robots with duplicated content and etc.

You should not have any problem. It does not effect SEO unless you host in a new country then it might.

It will not have any bad effect if properly done. If at all anything goes wrong, at most the SERP's will be down for for a couple of days.
