Building websites in photoshop & rebuilding in XHTML & CSS?

Is there any tutorial on building a complete website in photoshop and then slicing those images to rebuild it in XHTML and using CSS to help with the styling and positioning? In summary A complete Photoshop mockup to CSS and XHTML?

I hope someone could help out in explaining the finer details and also please list any useful URL for us to refer to.

Well Kenneth, I don't think there is one single article or book that I've come across which does what you want: "A complete Photoshop mockup to CSS and XHTML".

Generally tutorials on the web focus either on the Coding side, or the graphic side. It's important to know the limits of your abilities with the coding when designing in photoshop. But that shouldn't stop you experiementing, though you need to become familiar with what CSS is capable of to understand how to implement the design.

When you create a site by slicing images in PS and wrapping then in html you are looking for trouble. Images take longer time to load then place CSS content boxes. I'd use graphics only as an accent to give it a more unique look. Rather then that, I'd build the site purely in html/css.

For me it has all been trial and error.. its all about divs.

learn divs and css, and you are set. The basic html file that houses your css link will likely be smaller of a file than your css...

if you want more information and some help with learning this, PM me, and I'd be happy to help you learn this. Sometimes its easier to have someone to talk to at the time your trying a walk through just to ask questions and work things out at that time.
