    Permission denied to get property HTMLDocument.getElementBy

    Hi all,
    this is my first post in this forum, so pardon me for the format if incorrect.

    I manage a website which has an alias domain name. I recently created a Javascript menu for this website, unfortunately it works on original website but fails if i browse the site through the alias domain.
    I get an
    Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to get property HTMLDocument.getElementById

    Any ideas on how to work around this problem?
    thanks,
    Meher

    For security reasons, javascript has restricted permissions to work across frames.

    sample code:
    function openSub(name,id){

    currentMenu= name;

    var nameStyle= document.getElementById(name).style;

    ......
    }

    This works fine when i access the page main domain.
    But when i access through an alias domain, i get the afore mentioned error.

    The link is : http://cgd.jax.org and the alias is http://genomedynamics.org
