Google have already stated that they won't show all the backlinks of site using link command, only a selected set of links will be shown. Besides, they update that set of links (i.e. publicly visible links which can be viewed using link command) only periodically, so new sites generally don't return any result when using link command.

Yahoo also includes all the internal links so add this to your search - '-site:www.whatever.com' and it will mostly only show you links from external sites.
It's 530 people, but do you really get it?

You can also use Google Webmasters Central to view "ALL" of your backlinks Google has confirmed. Just do the following....

    1. www.google.com/webmasters

    2. Click the URL in question in the dash board.

    3. Click the "Links" tab.

    4. Click "Pages with external links"

Here you will see every single web page Google has confirmed at the listed date to be a backlink to your site. If you have any site wide links on another site ALL those pages will be listed that have been indexed. You can export a CVS report and use a data mining program to pull out all the stuff you don't need or dupilcate entries and see all your official backlinks

The hardest, but most "efficent" way to see your Google confirmed backlinks.
