"Normally, we're rooting against the asteroid," when it has Earth in its cross hairs, Chesley said. "This time we're rooting for the asteroid to hit."

    Wow.
Who's going to build a widget to track this one then?

    quote from that article:
The asteroid is now behind the moon, he said, so it will be almost two weeks before observers can plot its course more accurately.
something sound mighty strange to you about that?

the moon moves enough in one hour to reveal anything that's behind it located out by mars

    sheesh

I'm sure they meant "at the time" but yeah, the way it was written does seem odd. But note the article did say "more accurately" so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and let them say "yeah, we can plot it, but we want to make sure this IS going to hit first before we say anything conclusive".

Besides, better Mars than Earth. Especially if it were to, oh I don't know, blow up in the atmosphere. (Note: I mean "blow up in the atmosphere" here on Earth, not Mars.)

I love this quote, it sounds like: "Usually we're against Armageddon, but this time, it doesn't seem so bad."

Is this the one that is going to be 12 million miles away or the one that could hit mars. Either way we have 2 coming are way now. One is large and the smaller one if it hits mars will make a crater like one in arizona

OK. *redirects the asteroid to hit the swamp that Vinnie purchased*

What lawn? Oh, and does that count as my two weeks' notice, and where's my paycheck?
