If you have a site and you know of company's that have affiliate banners that target your audience you are trying to sell to I have a question.

Is there any disadvantage to simply applying directly to the company and if approved placing the affiliate link or banner onto your site?

Would it be better to find a company such as CJ that they are caried by and go that route?
