Fading text Java script applet - can't get it to work

yep i'm a newbie and i've searched for the answer everywhere and i've spent a long time trying to work it out for myself but I just can't see whats wrong. the tut seemed so simple.
    The tut: http://www.javascriptkit.com/java/java2.shtml
trying to use it here: http://neurovision.com.au/identity.htm

i uploaded the Fade.class file in the same directory.

    Can someone set me straight?

    Thanks.

Here is a line from your version of the applet

    Code HTML4Strict:
<param name="text1" value=""...My site has created so much more awareness of my store and my reason behind being in retail..."">

Your double quotes are all skew-whiff

Here is how it should look.

    Code HTML4Strict:
<param name="text1" value="...My site has created so much more awareness of my store and my reason behind being in retail...">

hmm I wouldn't have thought that would be enough...possibly, but....
Doesn't seem to be the problem... I have just replaced it with the original code again but I still get the same result.

That's bizarre... it is definitely there. Does that mean there's something wrong the fade.class file?

You do realise that this is the JavaSCRIPT forum, not the JAVA forum?

Yes, plase take this question to the Java/JSP forum where you will be able to get much more specialised help.
