I just noticed something odd about my search results
I Google searched the name of one of my sites (it's unique enough) and sure enough I get many links mentioning my website. But all of the results are of pages where I link to my site, either directly or indirectly. The site itself doesn't appear listed in the results. The domain is not listed. What does this mean? Is it simply because the links are coming from sites that receive higher traffic than mine?
It might mean your site is banned. Either do a search for 'site:domain.com' and see if you get any results or sign up for a Google Webmaster Tools account and see if they notify you of a penalty.
Yes, this is a special penalty that google used just before the last update. A similar example would be a search for "text link ads". text-link-ads.com does not appear for their name. Is that what you are talking about?
