    Well, I didn't notice this earlier, but you are mixing XHTML syntax with an HTML DOCTYPE. I'd change you <br/> to <br> to comply with the DOCTYPE you're using.

    This is strange though. The :focus is not working on my copy of Firefox, but it is in Opera (edit: no wonder - I forgot to close the style rule). Try adding some dimensions to the form. Either that or add zoom: 1; to see if you can trigger hasLayout.

    Ah, many thanks for noticing that - there's two of us working on it so I guess there was just some miscommunication there ;o

    Just curious, where should I apply zoom? I've tried applying it to #login, and body as a test but had no luck.

    Thanks again

    Just tried that thank you, no luck unfortunately, however!

    #login_form input:focus { background: url('/hr/img/login/login_box_focus.png') }

    *does* work, but there's a noteable setback in that when you click the login button, that changes too, and looks a bit 'naff, hmm. The top box with the staff number doesn't matter since that's disabled/pre-populated.

    #login_form input.password:focus { background: url('/hr/img/login/login_box_focus.png') }
