Lots of Satriani & Vai, metal & rock, and just to be arkward - I play Bach, Villa-Lobos and other classical pieces on my nylon string too. I was actually trained to play classical guitar after I learnt electric.

    Hi -
    Yup.

A dabbler in many styles but mistress of none...

Used to just sing other's songs, then learned more music and became too technical/pressured, smoked my voice away and wrote a lot of instrumentals, and now just wanna be a k*ss rhythm player.

I've played my Hamer Explorer since 1982 and this year I got a black Gibson Flying V. I play through a Rivera amp with an Eddie Van Halen phase 90. I'm into traditional folk music*.

I do - but not very well - at least not until the new "Metal Method" course arrives in the mail.

That's cool there are some Satch fans here! Does anyone know anything about the new CD supposed to arrive in April I think?

    Cheers,

    Steve

A nice song. However, there have been so many more greater songs by Satriani.

I know about as much as you do. Which is, I'm going to see him live in my hometown here in the UK and apparently the tour is in support of a new album.

    I play guitar
and currently owns 3 el-guitars, 1 bass and 3 acoustic guitars. and I hope to get another one in jan/feb, hopefully a Malmsteen Stratocaster, but we'll see about that...

I also play drums, piano, harmonica and jew's harp, and owns these instruments as well. and I have a 2/3 sized cello and a midi keyboard, but I can't play the cello yet, but a friend of mine is an expert so he use to play it when we jam

I have an almost 48m home-studio in my basement where I keep my equippment, and where I use to jam alone and with friends.
for recording it is equipped with a Roland digital studio and a pc running Steinberg Cubase. The pc has 10 inputs and 10 outputs and can record 10 tracks simultaneously and the Roland 8 tracks simultaneously.

aaaahh... music is your friend, until the end...

Guitar interests me, and I've attempted to self-teach myself on numerous occasions, but I always get sucked back into my first love of percussion

Speaking of which, I haven't really played either my piano or drum set seriously in quite some time. A new job, more web-related work, and the loss of musician friends has seemed to put a damper on my spirit. Time to dust them off, methinks.

yesterday I was supposed to repair a pc for a friend, and when I was done with it and he came to pick it up, we ended up plugging in two guitars to the amp's in my livingroom and was blues jamming to 4 o'clock in the morning

Been playing for a while - rock, blues and metal mostly.
SRV, Gary Moore, Queen and Pink Floyd.

I hope Satch does release a new album soon as it has been a while!

    ^certainly does

Spike - I don't know for sure when the last Satch album was released but I think it was early 2007. It was a pretty good offering.. (called Super Colossal) unlike the previous 'Is There Love In Space' which was a bit bland all round. If you ask me kindly, I would say his best albums by far his career have been the self-titled 'Joe Satriani" 1997? release and the 'Strange Beautiful Music' 2002 release.

I'm a guitar player. And I'm pretty darn good, too. Too bad I'm not as good of a songwriter as I am a guitar player.
