    Question Blog comment links

In what way do blog links that follow through the name field link benefit a site? I mean you'll only get the PR juice for an otherwise useless link anchor of whatever your name is. And no chance to sneak in the keyword and having your comment published are rather slim.

    links

IMHO, any link to your site has potential benefit in that some may use it to get to your site.

    1) Assuming the link is not using nofollow then you do get a small amount of PR

    2) Assuming the link is not using nofollow and the page is on topic the link still carries some weight towards whatever term you are hoping to rank for

I don't think there might be a need for you to comment on blogs to get PR juice any more because Google seems to be targeting dofollow blogs next.

If you have a new subpage on your site that you wish SE to find/crawl fast (find not rank high) you could get links from blogs as long as the nofollow tag is not being used...

Google isn't tagertting "dofollow" blogs for anything.

isn't targeting you meant to say?! I agree. If anything some blog owners are a bit unsure as to the benefits but that's an ongoing debate.

When I am under Black hat mode I post to every blog I can; like Mittineague said 'any link to your site has potential benefit'. As long you don't have to link to them they are awesome. Just don't make too many links too fast, there might be a chance you would be kept hold in the sandbox. The best average I predict is 15-20% links per month. E.g. Got 100 IBLs; building 20 quality IBLs every month will definitely increase you ranking, whether you are on Page 1 if not no.1 Just my 2 cents
