How do I ping to index new pages?

Im not too familiar with blogging and pinging. Can someone explain exactly how this is done?

Pinging is used to let the Search engines know that your blog has been updated. Try terms like ping blogs in Google & you would get sites that allow to ping.

pinggoat and pingomatic are good pinging services. If you have a good blogging CMS you can also add a custom ping list.

It should be as simple as adding the ping URL to your blogging software.

Add your RSS feed to your Yahoo personal page or your MSN personal page...If it is there, yahoo updates those feeds regularly...

If you use Wordpress it is easy to setup a ping list. It is listed under Options > Writing Options > Update Services
