    Ranking tool review

what tools can you recommend to find out the rank of the site for a particular keyword??

Also, has anyone tried this ranking tool??
    http://www.top25web.com/cgi-bin/report.cgi

Please tell me what you think about it.

I use Free Google Monitor, but stopped since it blocks my IP from the searches a fter a while of using it, and every time I do Google search I have to enter captcha so it's pretty annoying.

I intend to use this later at the end of the day, as I don't want to have my ip blocked for 24 hours. Though I'm not sure if it will be using this online tool on the link above.

For the meantime, for anyone willing to try it out, what do you think about this tool?

I think doing automated queries to search engines is tricky business, and many sites and programs have been either banned or penalized in some way in the past. There may be a good tool, but I think usually such tools are done in a small control group versus publicly available.
(though I may stand corrected by someone who can produce info about a tool)

Basically you need a tool that utilizes the old Google API and get yourself an API key. It's a shame Google stopped issuing them.

As stymiee said, with your API, try www.googlerankings.com, I use it every day for several sites and keywords.

It's really too bad Google doesn't give out API keys anymore. I hate getting my IP penalized.

I just found this online tool: http://www.sitemapdoc.com/serp-rank.aspx

But it's limited to only 200.

What I sometimes do is manually is look up the page rank in Google, displaying 100 results per query, then using the browser 'Find' to search for the site. But that's only if it's below 1,000, or 500. I simply don't have the patience to do it any more than that.

None of the tools would be able to give you the correct status of the search results positions. However, you can try http://prsearch.biz/ and www.googlerankings.com (API key required)
