    money lending help

    hey,
    I gave 4k to my friend, using check. He said, he would give it back within 15 days, now its upto 1 month, and he's ignoring me now.

    Method: Check
    Amount: $4k

    Why i gave money? He's one of my closets friends.

    Is there any way i can get my money back? I dont think he's going to give it back .

    Any suggestions?

    You know what they say about never lending what you cannot afford to lose. Maybe the deal he was expecting to be able to pay you back with is taking longer than he thought it would. It is pointless wondering when he is going to pay you back because only one person knows the answer to that and that is him. Ask him.
    There are three kinds of men:
    The ones that learn by reading.
    The few who learn by observation.
    The rest of us have to pee on the electric fence.

    I asked him, and he has like 100 excuses. It's not like i cant live without 4k, but the trust and 4k are lost at the same time.

    So, there is no way to get back the money that is paid through check?

    Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
    For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
    You could try help out your friend with his finances, and see if you can work out a way for him to pay it back over time. With proper budgeting it should be manageable.
