    Firefox jog?

I have never seen anything like this but I have created a pop up style div using z-index and every now and then the div renders with a glitch running through it. The glitch doesn't seem to care if it is going through text, design, or a input field. It looks like the old IE jog but seemingly different.

I have search google and I don't see any real instances of any kind of FF jog....any idea?

Never heard of it, could you show us an example of your code please

If you can't then first check that your HTML and CSS are valid so that Firefox is dealing with valid code to begin with

Do you have images in your pages with the height and width attributes missing from the html as this can cause firefox to misplace elements?

    Yes the code is valid.

    No there are no images.

There are some tables that are nested in the DIV but then again I am using the tables to display tabular data.

    Seconded

If you can't provide a link then try to mock up a working demo. At present I'm not sure that the technical term "glitch running through it" is going to give us any insight

glitch running through it = 2-3px horizontal jog :-)

I will try and work on a screenshot or some code for you guys. The problem is that there is nothing predictable about this glitch.

They're the hardest to solve I'm afraid

A screenshot would be good so we can see what's is actually happening

Even if we can't replicate the problem, the full code may give us an insight into what's going wrong.

Valid code is a great starting point but even then, if things conflict and aren't used as intended they can cause problems even in standard compliant browser so just viewing the source code may enable us to spot the problem for you.

A screenshot would be useful but even then, neither myself or Paul have seen this problem (as far as I'm aware) before so looking at the outcome won't be all that much help without seeing the code that's possibly causing it
