Every time I see your name on thread list I am certain it ought to be about 'English'.

    1) Video games: I have to understand the options I'm picking and the story of the game in order to fully enjoy it, right?

    2) Online forums where the main language is English.

    3) Keeping my trusty electronic English/Arabic dictionary within reach!

I was 11 when I started learning English at school. I studied more seriously once I got to high-school. It was my life's passion .. then I went to the Letters Faculty and studied some more. Used to do the tests in the TOEFL book, never went farther to the exam since I couldn't afford it, or the Cambridge exams either. I started posting in forums 6 years ago and my skills improved some more. I like watching the movies with English subtitles (to be able to hear and read) .. most of my daily posting is done in English ...

I am learning continuously .. and using something we call "romglish" .. a mixture between Romanian and English

This is pretty much it. I think we all have answered this question of yours many times now. There just is not another way, other than go and live in a country where English is the main language. You have to be patient and persistent. It takes many years.
