Well it's a very polished design, well done I don't really think there's anything I could say that you might improve The only thing I dislike is the mouse - not sure why but that's just me

That's a nice website. In fact, the only flaw I can find is that your main navigation links get really jumbled together if you increase/decrease the font size in the browser.

It also looks like you've done your homework on SEO. Great job!

Nice site but a little long
The comment Any guess which one has the lowest priotity, the lower part is cut off or covered by an image.
I like your standards, too bad more don't show or describe them.
A good web design is important but content is king.

I really like the design, but I'm not sure if it tells the right message.
Maybe it's just me, but it looks to me more like a personal blog than a professional service.
But your portfolio speaks for itself, nice pages there.

I think your site is really nice.

However, one thing I don't understand is why your portfolio includes mostly sites that were created with the DoodleKit website builder that you promote on your site. You talk on your home page about how you hand code sites, yet the examples are sites created with the website builder. I guess that confused me a bit.

This is true; unfortunately most of my custom sites have been outsourced to me by other web design companies that put their name on my work. I am not allowed to show them, link to them, or mention them in any way. This really hurts when it comes to trying to make a portfolio, but it pays the bills.

However, all of the Doodlekit layouts are my work. I created each layout myself, making sure its flexible for a CMS and providing multiple color themes, header images, and backgrounds for each. They are all W3C compliant as well. In a way I guess you could say each layout is an example of my work.

I have from this point forward refused to do any more outsourced work that will not allow me to claim the design as mine. I will be adding all new work to my portfolio.

    I see Kego.

Well, those Doodlekit layouts are REALLY nice. Clean, pretty, not overly flashy for flashy sake. So I think you're right: they really are an example of your work. Definitely.

    Hi Kego,

I'll be honest with you... I like your site. A lot. This is the kind of site that I love to review, as it's one of the select few that really impresses me. Your design style is very unique, something which is rare these days. The colours, attention to detail and formal aspects (validation, readibility, seo etc...) are all very impressive. I particularly liked the rollover effect of your templates in the header, that whole area just gives the site loads of depth.

I'm so impressed that I've added your site along with DoodleKit to my CSS Showcase site as examples of beautiful design (see my signiture). So well done!

As for suggestions I don't have many. Firstly I would round the corners very slightly for your content areas to make the layout less boxy. Secondly I would perhaps highlight behind some words in your main content paragraphs as it's quite a lot of text to look at. Also perhaps reduce the opacity of the repeating pattern in your footer, it's a little hard hitting right now, and I prefer such design touches to be subtle. That's really about it though.

    Great job!

Wow… thank you all for your complements and praise… I am kind of taken aback by it all. And thank you clink for posting Heathbits on your site (which by the way looks really good too!).

Business is booming with Doodlekit right now. When I find some time, I would like to host a design contest where you take a really basic Doodlekit layout and use the CSS override editor to design your own site. It would be like Zen Garden, except instead of one page, it would be a whole site!

    Btw, Doodlekit just made TechCrunch:

    Thanks again everyone!
