    PHP Help

    Hello there

    i am a beginner with PHP language.
    I'd like to transform my .shtml pages in .php pages.

    At this moment, i'm using an action
    <!-- exec cgi -->
    to call banners from a script writen in perl; can i call the same script from a .php page instead of .shtml page?
    What is the correct syntax?

    Thanks,
    Nicola

    Hi Nicola,

    While I rarely use Perl and have never used it within PHP. It can be done, although from my understanindg, it can get very hairy. Most everything you can do in Perl you can do in PHP. I encourage you to port ewhatever you are doing in Perl over to PHP as keeping things all in the same scripting langugae can make things quite a bit easier. Don't hesitate to refer to the VERY helpful PHP manual, which is famous for being written by actual human beings.

    If you want to keep it as a Perl script you can use virtual() to run it:

    PHP Code:
    virtual("./folder/script.cgi");
