    repeating tbody background image in IE

    I have a background image set to the tbody tag for my listing tables. It's set to repeat-x and works fine in firefox (of course).

    But in IE, it's repeating the background on every row as if I set the background for the tr tag.

    Anyone have any ideas why explorer is doing this? I've tried writing a rule for the tr to have background: none; but then the background is totally destroyed and nothing shows up, which is weird too.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Yep, that's a bug. Actually, it acts as if you set the background on td, not tr. Here's a fix:
    Code:
    tbody { background-image:url(foo); }
    td { background-position:expression(-this.offsetLeft + " " + -this.offsetTop); }
