    DollarLinking.ca please review

Hi all could you please review my link bidding directory http://www.dollarlinking.ca/

Just so you can take a look and tell me what you think, here are some of the features:

    - 3 deep links with titles
    - your own listing custom meta description / keywords
    - every category has it's own meta description / keywords
    - link leader shows at the top and bottom of the page
    - your link with your own keywords for example: http://dollarlinking.ca/link/Pimp-Do...ectory-55.html
    - tons of popular categories to choose from
    - search engine friendly design
    - you can have a large description, not the original 2 lines.
    - links still start at $2
    - a blog
    - also include a page for latest links and and another one for top links
    - PR4

Please tell me what you think. I know if should probably have more graphic but I wanted to keep it as fast loading as possible. The site is really more design for the search engines than for surfers.

    Regards,

    David

Nice site, but it won't work.

First of all, when I see a site that advertises to increase pagerank, the first thing I look at is the pagerank of the actual site. If the site cannot optimize its own page rank, then i doubt it will boost mine.

Second, people will not pay you. Nothing wrong with your site, but its just that people do not like giving credit cards. Even if you don't charge money but just ask for credit card, still no one will give it. Think about this site, will you ask someone to review your site for $1? I am sure this site will not last long if u had to pay...

Look at the most successful sites, youtube, kijiji, social networks, dmoz, all are free...

I disagree. If you can get your pagerank up enough people will pay you to link to them. They might not necessarily be smart people, but you will get paid.

The site has a PR4 which is pretty good. Payments are done automatically via paypal so no problem with credit card and I have already made a few hundreds. I'm aiming for a PR5 or 6 at next update. If you take a look at bigweblink.com, it's a pr 6 and look at the bids. There are over $20 000 worth of bids only on the first page. Thanks your review john5171 but I highly disagree.

Hi galen thanks for your review.

Nice a clean design, but I am really not a fan of dark backgrounds.
It feels like your in a morgue....

I also think the text is to small, I understand you want to have as many likes as possible above the line, but that only works if I can read them....
I suppose search engines don't care, but then they don't care if the link is above the line either....

Apart from that, from a design point of view.... nice a design.

Good site.I like the design and the colors , and they match very well. The only problem I think is text size , which make it for visitors hard to read. After all , directories aren't just for PR increase , some traffic increase would be good too. Keep up the good work!

I ike the idea (the possibility of paying to get some good exposure, even if for a limited time at the top of a list may well be worth it, and even when you've dropped off the top, your link will always be there, as the lists' pr carries- on increasing (hopefully!) so I guess money well spent..?)
This will especially appeal to all the struggling <pr3 sites who could do with some quality inbound links, maybe not the thing for higher prs, but why would they need it anyway?
I like the fact that it is presented as a directory, not just a tl...
I think the colour scheme is a bit harsh on the eyes (might just be my bloodshot peepers, though..) perhaps a shift to an almost- black and almost- white theme will keep the look but reduce eye strain, and the headers and backgrounds for the site rankings/ infor need to match- either all glossy, or all matt- keep it all nice and uniform, it will look much nicer...
Also, header area is quite fussy- may be easier to read if a graphic is used to help separate the info a bit (just 1 image, and if you're careful it shouldn't really affect page load times), and sidebar colums might look better i fthey start at the same height? I don't know, just persomal taste, that...
All in all, I like the site, just needs some 'easy on the eye' treatment..

    Regards

    Greg

plus, it's somewhat of a unique model,
the negative of this would be Google seems to be cracking down on link farms an other similar services

I agree with the fact that paying for links just doesn't really work that well. And once again as mentioned by sharksystems, paid reciprocal links are being handled by Google differently, especially when it seems like a link farm.

On a more positive note though, the design looks very sharp. I actually have always liked the red on a black background like that.

One important note though, I feel it's very important to not have any misspelled words. The following line at the top-center of your index page:
includes 3 deeplinks and you own
The underlined word should be your

Hi and thank you for your reviews.

Hi WEbsiteguy. I totally disagree. How do you think I got a PR4 from PR0 within a few months? Backlinks baby! Especially links on site's front page. The PR6 are very expensive to get into or get any kind of exposure, that's why it's best to get in early while it's still a PR4. That's one of the best way to increase your PR. Since it's a PR4, it's 2 on google, yahoo for keyword like dollar linking and soon on the front page for link bidding and increase pagerank. Since it's a PR4, the traffic have dramatically increased and growing. I do agree that spellings looks bad, I'll fix this asap, thanks.

Hi Sharksystem thanks for your review.

Hi Greg thanks for your review. Take a look at linkbidding.ca, it's the same layout but with a green instead of a red. Do you like it better?

Hi Moogoo, I know what you mean about dark backgroud and I also always tried to stay away from it but I though this time it would be a good occation to give it a try. I like it but I would like it to if it was clearer. I wanted to keep only a few colors so that I can have different combination of colors for my network of bidding directories. Thanks for your review.

Hi Bbrock, yeah the text size is too small in the body, I'll fix this asap. Thanks.

Thank you all for your reviews.

    Best regards,

How did you get a PR4? When I google: link:www.dollarlinking.ca I only see 5 links... is it enough for PR4?

idea is good but i have to agree that people don't like to give out credit cards out. if you made it a free for everyone and added premium services after it grew then maybe it can work. payment should not be via credit card. the site's design is nice and simple. not a fan of dark backgrounds either. look at the giants, yahoo, google....all white background. i think the idea is really good...just need to grow the site so people will want to link. and in the beginning...definately go with free service.

Checked- out linkbidding.ca- yeah, that is less harsh, but lacks the visual impact of yours...

think the red 'n' black will work with a bit of polish...

    try #260500 instead of black..?

    Hi all,

Hi John 5271, if you want to see the real back link just type "www.dollarlinking.ca" that's how I got a PR4 in 2 months. Take a look iwebtool.com for the PR http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_che...rlinking.ca%2F

Hi Bloogernoob, I'm not sure if you red the whole thing but payments are made via paypal so it's as easy as it gets.

Hi Stephens, I would love it if you could explain the logic behind what you said:
Nice, but make the site submission free for to improve your site page rank...
It would be agains the whole site idea and would make it a regular directory. I added one of my site to 500 directory, apparently hight PR a year ago, I didn't see any back links from that. If you want backlinks, get your link on the front page or up in the category you enter. Thanks for your review.

Pagerank doest not increase with the amound of links you have going out but with the amount of links coming in. If I'm confused and I highly doubt it, please explain. Thank you very much for your review.

Hi Greg rum leach, I know what you mean and thank you for your review. I'll give that color code a shot. Thanks.

Hi Insurance, thanks for your review. I know it's a little gluttered and I'll work on this. Keep in mind that the site is designed mostly for search engines, SEO specialist and webmasters in general who would know how to work these types of sites. The design has a lot to do with the fact it went up in PR very quick. I always tell my clients that the site has to be firstly desiged for the search engines, that's how your clients are going to find you.

Thank you so much everyone for your review. I'll take all you can give.

    Regards,

    D.
