    Any ASP programers out there that can help me? i need to set up eithe a single button or someething that will allow customers to send me a notice that a link was broken etc. my logs are ok buti don't get to check them as often as i'd like.

    basically i need to have the refferring page URL sent to me via e-mail (JMail). this can be accomplished by an automatic e-mail or by the user clicking on a button to alert me. any idea....

    As I understood you want to create a 404 error page that will send you referrers url by email !?

    If so than just use your regulare way of sending emails and add Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERRER") to the body.

    Hope this helps

    Ailon,

    Can you be a little more specific, like providing some code examples, or a URL where you use it.

    Thanks

    DynaMike:

    This is how it should be done imho (not tested on animals ). I use jmail component http://www.dimac.net:
    ....
    <%
    Set jmail=Server.CreateObject("jmail.smtpmail")
    jmail.ServerAddress="smtp.server.com"
    jmail.AddRecipient "myemail@myhost.com"
    jmail.Sender="badlinkreporter@myhost.com"
    jmail.Subject="Bad Link Report"
    jmail.Body="Bad link to our site at " & Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERRER")
    jmail.Execute
    %>
    ....

    Hope this helps... and works
