    Uploading mp3s

    Hi Guys,

    while im learning about uploading/resising images i thought i may aswell look into the procedure for mp3's, i can upload files fine but how should the file be played back to the user? would i need to make a flash mp3 player?

    The upload process is no different from any other file type.

    If you want to perform any routines on the uploaded mp3 files, you need external software to do that. php has no built-in libraries for that

    Yes, pretty much just a bit more complicated.

    You will probably want them converted to flv for consistency as well as create thumbnails for them. ffmpeg is what people use for that.

    Of course, you might skip all that and just play them in embedded media player or quicktime player, etc. Flash video of course adds to user experience enormously.
