An 11th century village called Sermoneta, south of Rome. It is perched really high up in the hills and has sweeping views across the plain to the sea. We stayed there for a week earlier this year - it was magical!

Yes, these old cities up hills in Italy and Europe in general are something to behold. It is always hard to believe that people in the old times built these massive structures without the help we have today.
Italy leaves everybody with great memories I think. I have mine, and they are wonderful to have.
