This does sound like a wonderful theme. I hope to catch a few stairs here, we do not have many, but I am really bogged down in my work right now. I look forward to the different stairs people will show.
Wonderful -- I love the first stair best. Simple, elegant without being sterile. A beautiful curve.. Stairs can be so dramatic, no wonder wedding photos are often staged on them

An 11th century village called Sermoneta, south of Rome. It is perched really high up in the hills and has sweeping views across the plain to the sea. We stayed there for a week earlier this year - it was magical!
Yes, these old cities up hills in Italy and Europe in general are something to behold. It is always hard to believe that people in the old times built these massive structures without the help we have today.
Italy leaves everybody with great memories I think. I have mine, and they are wonderful to have.
