Making PHP work with ADO.Net datasets

    Hi everybody,

I'm trying to make a visual basic .Net cooperate with a PHP web server. So far I've found out that I need to use SOAP for data communication (I think I'll use NuSOAP to generate the web service). What I am looking for is a way to make PHP with ADO.Net datasets. I'm a mildly experienced VB.Net programmer, but also a highly experienced PHP programmer so getting technical and 'technically-rough' won't be much of a problem.

I'm really hoping someone can point me in the right direction, because I can't really find any (if any at all) information on this on the Internet!

Design wise, I am looking for the following structure:
    - A VB.Net client with which the users works
    - A PHP web server, with a MySQL database
    - A PHP (NuSOAP) web service for communication with the VB.Net client

Note: All data changes are made offline, the online part is just viewing.

I need all data to be stored online, in the MySQL database. All (relevant) data will be loaded into one dataset when the client launches. The client will be able to work with this dataset alone. On certain intervals + at application shutdown the local dataset is synchronized with the online database (using VB.Net's dataSet.getChanges()). The web service will receive a dataset with changes, which PHP will need to process and thus update the online database.

Please note: a local SQL storage is no option, we need the system designed described above.

Bottom line: How do I create and process ADO.Net datasets with PHP (after being passed through SOAP) ?????

    Thank you!

I'm not a .NET developer, but this might interest you:
