    Indexing

My website was indexed by google last month. But I made a mistake (too much link error), and it was removed from google index. But kartubisnis.com (without www) is still in google index. What is the difference between indexing the www and non www version? Am I having a problem here? Thanks.

If you signup for Google Webmaster Tools you can set the preferred domain....with www or without it.

Pick one. If you have www and non ww url listed it will split page rank. They think of it as 2 pages and could think it is duplicate site.

Add your site in Google webmaster central. Set the Preferred domains.

I highly recommend setting up a 301 on your root page, where if a visitor isn't access your preferred URL, they get 301'd to the proper (either www or non-www).

If you want to get really anal (like me), do it for every page of your site.

You can add a rule in your htaccess which moves all visits from www to non www or vice versa.

    Try:

    Code:
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain\.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
You can also specify (as mentioned above) whether you want Google to list www or non www -- you can find it in Google webmaster tools.
