The "MDAC 2.7 RTM" update might be useful if you're running a Windows version other than XP. You can read http://www.microsoft.com/data/MDAC27info/en/readme.htm and see if there's anything that meets a specific need you have. If not, I'd follow the general rule of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
