    thanks mike
the problem says there is a conflict between versions of framework I have two of them, the resolution given here says I need to add a new application pool to seperately run the aspx of different versions.

The problem in creating a pool is that it works only on IIS 6 I have IIs 5 where to find IIS 6 I am using windows XP

Ok, then it is a different issue. Look in the event log and see what errors IIS is throwing off.

Look under administrative tools for the event viewer. IIS6 is part of windows 2003 server, so you cannot upgrade to it save by installing that OS.

Ok, I have two versions of .NET framework installed on my Windows XP Pro machine - 1.1 and 2.0. In the ASP.NET settings of the website (Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services -> <your computer/> -> Web Sites -> <Your website> -> Properties -> ASP.NET) I can choose the version of ASP.NET and modificate the configuration.

Sometimes I just use the Visual Studio built-in webserver.
