    AdSense: Reports not adding up...

Several blogs and forums are reporting problems at AdSense since last weekend's maintainence.

    One publisher states:

On one of my lower-traffic sites, Google's reporting 224 impressions,
7 clicks, and 89 cents in revenue today. But on 3 channels from that
    site, I'm reporting 4 clicks for $1.02, 3 for $.51, and 2 for $.31.
So the channels that are reporting clicks are claiming 9 clicks for
$1.84 while Google's claiming 7 for $0.89. For the first time, my ad
channels are reporting higher than a URL channel, and that is worrying
    me.
Have you seen any reporting problems with your account?

Yes, Google has been having some troubles with their Adsense accounts for a couple days now. A lot of people have been effected. For the most part, only the tracking and reporting numbers have been off and revenue from clicks has held accurate. Some are reporting that their accounts are now back to normal. By the end of the weekend I'm pretty sure all issues will be worked out.

As it was discussed in here:

    http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510528

It may have been a coincidence that the system just got fixed, but I added the Google recommended info to my robots.txt and my stats are just fine now.

You right there is some problem with the reporting, and if i hear correctly there is some problem with adsense it self.

I recently have seen some friends who have quit adsense for other alternatives because of low earnings. The earnings have suddenly dropped to unexpected levels with the same traffic.

Wonder if its just the reporting or other things wrong too.

PS: check my marketplace listing below if you have time.

Somehow I don't think that had anything to do with the misreporting channels.

In any case, it seems that mine are back to normal.

Everything's back to normal for my account. The only problem was that the adsense only showed me the URL channel stats.

Great to have it back to normal

I saw huge discrepancies in clicks receive vs. clicks paid for

I can't see how stock analysts rate this company so highly, when they have no open line of communications with their publishers, advertisers and what they do have likes to talk about his cat and other fluff....

Giving Google's crawler access to your site via robots.txt shouldn't have anything to do with Adsense correctly tracking and reporting stats on your impressions/clicks.

I think it would take either very significant competition or Adsense loosing foothold with publishers in order to sway Google into being more transparent about the system.

I noticed ads took long time to load and some did not work only showed code for ad. Stats are working again and ads are slow every now and then.

Maybe because they are a quasi-monopoly that can impose its standards and practices upon its customers and partners

I've about all but quit with publishing Adsense ads. If I MUST have some type of 'quick to implement' ppc ad revenue, I will put YPN ads up. Targeting isn't as good for more obscure niches, but the revenue is double, maybe triple currently compared to G.

It is paying very well to go with pay per lead programs and actual products (affiliate, PLR, whatever). Life is too short to have your income jacked around - Google is NOT worth the angst.

I've been having the same problem.
On some days my page impressions for the channels adds to less than the page impessions for the site!
