    Going Independent

I own a domain name. Who or what is the best Free way to put a blog onto a domain name? I would like to start a blog using my own domain name.
Who would I use without having the .myblog.theirnamehere.com mumbo jumbo.

I just want an easy name for people to type in & find a my blog.

Also can it be done without my content being stored on someone else's hosting service.

Just download and install WordPress, the software that powers most independent blogs. It's free.

What he said. Right now I'm in the process of bending WordPress to my will so I can use it as a traditional content management system.

Just make sure that if you want the script (I won't call it "blog" since it can be used for so much more than that) to be run from your Web root (such as yourwebsite.com instead of blog.yourwebsite.com or yourwebsite.com/blog) that you install it to your public_html directory (or /www in some cases, depending on the server used).

There are some ways but these are not free. You have to get the web hosting service or you can pay the blog site like wordpress to use your own domain name.

I think the second variant is better.
