    overflow: hidden; ...not hiding anything :(

    hey,

    having a slight problem here with overflow: hidden; property in css. its not hiding content as it should be. here is my implementation:

    Code CSS:
    div#columns {
    	width: 207px;
    	color: #000;
    	margin: 15px auto 0 auto;
    	height: 200px;
    	overflow: hidden;
    	padding-bottom: 10px;
    	background: #fff;
    	}

    you can see the behavior output here: http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5...problemmf2.jpg

    (on the right where it says "columns" in black lettering. that div should be 200px high)

    does the fact that the <li> elements are generated through php make this an issue?
    the div is using NiftyCorners javascript to round the edges, is that an issue?

    (oh also in case youre curious, i know the heading doesnt match with that picture, i just used fillers as i'm working to redesign this page atm! that girl was featured in a news story several weeks ago)

    210px actually

    does the fact that the <li> elements are generated through php make this an issue?
    Nope, PHP only generates HTML / CSS and javascript. The server-side implementation is irrelevant.

    Probably. Try disabling javascript in the browser and see what happens.

    If it happens with javascript disabled then I would validate the HTML and CSS and post a link to the site here, or the code, if the problem isn't directly evident.

    ah i should have tried disabling javascript first didnt even think of it.

    yes, disabling it works.

    i do find it kinda weird because the author of niftycorners made a special javascript call for elements with fixed heights. anyways, thanks for the help mark!

    look into a technique called '9-slice' or 9-slicing, really easy way to achieve rounded corners using just images
