Thumbs down Blurry Fonts in Safari & Camino?

    Hey guys,

I've never really been around macs, but recently I've began to notice that the fonts on my website look bold and blurry on mac browsers. Excluding firefox.

I'm not sure what it is, but I just donwloaded Safari for PC and the fonts look the same, yet on other browsers they look like standard crisp Arial 12pt fonts.

Can anybody explain why they look that way? It's very unattractive.

    Thanks,
    Mario

Safari for Windows uses the Mac's rendering engine, for lack of a better term. In other words, what you see on Win/Safari is pretty much what you're going to see on Mac/Safari.

It's just what you are used to. Macs are heavy in the publishing world and their fonts are geared toward that. The 'bluriness' you see is anti-aliasing. Mac users will tell you your Windows screen is thin and blocky and edgy. Typographically speaking, Mac fonts are superior to Windows fonts.

Very old topic but here's a solution: http://blog.awpny.com/2007/10/crisp-...irefox-safari/

However, text-shadow property won't validate, that's why I'm searching for another solution and just found this thread
