input fields

Input fields can take (for the most part anyway, I'll be referring to the basics here with regard to this particular element) pretty much whatever you throw at them, buttons are best styled by having their borders and backgrounds removed (if you're using buttons to serve images for submit buttons, just use <input type="image" src="/images/image.gif" alt="alternate text"> instead), selects are a pain in the neck to style consistently cross-browser, and OPTION cannot be styled at all since it's CDATA.
