    A templating problem

    Hello everyone.

I'm new to sitepoint, as you see this is also my first time posting. Nice to meet you all!

I'm developing a blog software for personal use for now(and maybe one of this days...)

There is currently no template system on the source so its as is shown in main site http://applemint.arelity.net

I want to add one, but I still want to be allowed to have ifs() and so on in the files. I've been checking on smarty, PHPTemplate and other things to see if I can grasp a little but it seems there is more than meets the eye (such as security et cetc...)

I'm planning to change the code to OOP "powered" but first I want to clear my doubts before doing so

So what exactly do you want to know?
If you use a template system, you'll have you 'ifs' separated from the HTML code. But you'll still be able to use them.

I want to know the options or ways to do a template system without embedding it into the source.

Sorry for the late answer, just been busy a lot =/
