Ideal proportion of references?

When writing blog posts, about what percent of the content should contain reference links? Just starting out myself, I only have my history background to go from. I have a sneaking suspicion that blogging isn't quite as source-intensive, but I don't want to go to the other extreme and leave out reference entirely!

What have you found is the ideal proportion of references?

no blogging isn't as source intensive and I wouldn't say there is an ideal proportion. If you know your sources, then link to them within the context of the post. The main place to ALWAYS source is what led you to your idea if it was someone else's blog post.

Well, I guess it depends what you're writing. If you're writing something in an essay-style, then it's natural to reference. But if you're just writing a simple short post then maybe an in-line reference is ok.

I'd take a look at www.daringfireball.net - he mixes linking to different types of sites - referencing and intext.
