You don't need anything specific to WordPress for this. You'll have more control if you don't try to limit yourself to plugins.

You can insert ads to appear in all pages or posts by editing the theme templates. You can insert ads to appear in individual posts by simply writing the ad in the post body when you compose it.

I do not know in fact

Of course I know how to insert banners & links in posts but I thought that some plugins could bring some fresh ideas (ads between 2 posts, rotating ads ...)

I realize that place ads depends on themes too

It sounds like your thinking about plugin that uses rss feed of affiliate site to add content to blog post. I would not use them because the content is duplicate and will not do well in google.

Your better off adding things yourself and making your own descriptions.

    No rss feeds indeed

Well, here is a link I know before somebody posts it = http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Advertisement

[ I do hope this link will help some people new to wordpress ]

If you do so, which one do you use ?

I agree. Of course, a tracking script can show advertisers click thru rates etc but as far as managing ads I prefer to use templates in wordpress. For example, I created a template called ads_125x125.php and then I simply link to it in my other templates. It means whenever I chance a banner I only need to change it once.
