Agreed, I have decided not to use them, the reviews are'nt what I expected I was hoping for something that worked flawlessly.--

Since the ad is audio and video, it should be pay per play, not per click. A text only ad can be easily ignored and in that context, pay per click makes sense. If I server up this ad, visitors play it, i should get paid even if they don't follow the link to the advertisers site. I mean their message was seen/heard... I did my job at that point.

I agree. I wonder if Google will make this pay per play. I wonder if there are good examples of sites making good $ with video units.

tried it on a client's site for a week now. trying to target videos specific to the site content wasn't very successful, same 6 videos have shown for a couple of weeks now (discussed it here: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/show....php?t=522924). someone asked about building a site around it earlier in this thread - i don't think it's possible at this point. no significant clicks at this point either. i'm not ready to ditch it yet as i think it's got potential, but we'll see.

Ok, where are you people finding this! I looked but couldn't find it, though I could be mistaking what it is, here's wha tI'm looking for...

    Say I have a site.

I have a video podcast for that site, that I publish as mp4 for download, and use YouTube to stream each episode to me site.

In the YouTube videos ON the site, I'd like to have overlay ads powered by Google. These are video's I made, that I'm posting on MY site. With Google ads.

The only thing I have found is for their "selected partners," which is based off of having thousands of views (I might be in the teens of views now ) ), but I didn't se any way for a small-guy like me to do it...

that's just it nukeemusn, you can't really customize it at all. it would be nice if it allowed you to play your fav's from youtube. at least then you could set up your own playlists.

Ok this thread is really getting long now but I'm curious. Is it any YouTube video and then google inserts the ad into video? Or are the video's themselves commercials. I post a lot of you tube video's that get plenty of play on my site... monetizing that would be attractive to me... since I'm already posting the videos.

AdSense sucks ! I dont see the point of the service where you lost 1000$ in few hours without gain of regular traffic

    AdSense never !

I have been testing this out for a while now and am not seeing good returns on a very active forum we run. Seems like almost all (if not all) of the videos themselves generate nothing and the ads are a little awkwardly matched. Knowing Google it's going to improve dramatically, but my initial take on this was not good.

I guess we will have to wait it out to get smaller more customized videos...

I have tested the video adsense on one of my blogs and the videos are really huge.
