    Your experience with SEO experts/firms

    Hello

If anybody ordered SEO services from SEO companies / individuals, could you please share your experience.

I need to build new site from scratch so I'm thinking about paying somebody to make it right with all SEO right from the start so i wonder if there are any good experts out there based on peoples experience.

    I appreciate your feedback guys.
    Thanks

If they are really good, they probably charge a lot. But, there are those who charge a lot but aren't good. You need references, and then you need to follow up on the references to see what they say. You also need some specific accomplishments that were achieved recently (not a few years ago).

    Hey there,

I do stress what dvduval said about recent experience. SEO is evolving and programmers have to keep up with the latest trends.

You should note that there are also a lot of cheap coders that could do a good job with SEO. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to help you get backlinks. However, I would look for somebody with skill to help you with on-page optimization.

Good luck finding the right person.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

I paid out $13k a few years to rank for semi-competitive terms. It did absolutely nothing! The site gets maybe 100 uniques per day. They wanted another $13k. We said NO!!!!

We've been doing it ourselves ever since.

And SEO is not equal to ranking highly so much anymore, especially not in the short term. It is a long process that is very much related to building a quality site.

Agreed. This is another reason I'd do it myself. I can't afford to be paying a firm for SEO for the next 5 years? I'd rather spend that money making a killer site!

I could argue that SEO is part of what makes a killer site

Without SEO, its hard to reach the top of the search results. If you are not at the top of the search results, you are not optimizing your traffic. If you are not optimizing your traffic, you are not making as much money as you could be with a site.

That makes me feel like I am undercharging clients heh..

You have to find the right firm to do SEO for you. Otherwise, it can be a waste of time and money.

I never said "no SEO". I said "I'm not paying a firm to do it. I'll do it myself.

A well marketed site will rank in almost every case. Sure, if no one knows about the site, it will not rank. Sometimes the rankings are the reason that people know about the site.

    I'm on your side.

That was 2 years ago for whatever that's worth.

    Yup. I have. Me!

Seeking for references on previous works of a SEO provider should be sufficient enough (if you really need to outrrsource it).

I would suggest the OP to make research first and do some basic SEO - if he doesn't see any result, then that would be the time to hire someone else to do it for you
