    Question Cross domain SSO

    Hi,

What's the best way to implement cross domain single sign on?
    Any experience with that?

I am researching this myself right now.

I've searched the SitePoint forums with no luck, and most articles about "cross-domain SSO" on Google are geared towards intranets, legacy applications, SAML, etc. which, I think, is more complicated than providing SSO for public webapps on the internet.

I did find this pattern though (note the comments on security issues and their workarounds) and I might have a go at implementing it soon.

If anyone out there has done this already please jump in and say hi.

To describe the overall goal for those who are interested: We have six websites sharing the same userbase and, because they're each hosted on separate domains, our users need to log in to each site individually. The pattern provided in the link above will hopefully reduce this to a single sign-on (and sign-out!).

    All advice/links welcomed! :-)

    Thanks,
    shy

Do a search on "OpenID". It facilitates decentralised SSO authentication.

OpenID it's a MS Passport project like.
My problem is not to share users base, the problem that I want to solve is how to login on one domain from my network and became logged on in my other domains.

Anybody know how to do it?
