    Changing password for "root" user in mysql

    I have the command to do this... but i have no idea how to get to the shell prompt... or the mysqlamdin prompt..


    I do however know how to get to and use the mysql prompt.

    I'm using win98, apache, mysql, and php/

    Open a command promt
    Start-Run-"Command"
    Go to your mysql\bin dir and type:

    mysqladmin -u root password "your new password"
