Limited by student contest restrictions, need a Javascript solution

Working with kids on winning a grant for the school. I wanted to use Wordpress for the back-end and have them build a template on top of that. Unfortunately

    * browser-based technologies such as Flash, Java script, dhtml, style sheets, and applets are supported; and
    * server-based technologies such as PHP, Perl, SSI, Java, CGI, and FrontPage extensions* are NOT supported.
Any solutions with Javascript for an easy content management/blogging system?

    Thanks

That certainly seems like a challenging task. The problem is you need somewhere to store the data, and I'm pretty sure most browsers these days won't let javascript access the filesystem.

If you really can't involve any server-side technology at all, then having data persistent for every viewer seems impossible to me. I'll be interested to see where this project goes!

Could you possibly explain the problem in a bit more detail?

A content management system is server side by definition. None of the technologies listed as available for use can do more than a small fraction of what is required for a CMS.
