    Unhappy Scroll bar won't scroll in IE 6

    Pulling my hair out over an IE 6 bug--scroll bars will not scroll.

    You can see what I mean here:

    The scroll bar in the right content area doesn't work. The one on the left works fine. Can't figure if this is because of floats or what, but I've tried all kinds of stuff.

    I know there's a lot of cruft in my CSS right now--planning to fix before go-live.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    How is that relevant to a problem in IE6? You've posted the same response to someone having a problem with Safari in another thread.

    As for the problem, it does seem to scroll but the image stays fixed. It looks like this is probably due to you using position: relative for the image.

    IF you remove the following line then it should work

    Code:
    #right_column_content p img{
        float: right;
        position: relative;
        margin-left: 5px;
        padding: 8px;
        border: 1px solid white;
    }

    Yes this is a bug in IE and one that I have utilized a number of times to implement position:fixed in IE

    An element with position:relative in a container that has overflow other than visible will become fixed within that container should the container need to scroll.

    Code:
    .test{
    width:200px;
    height:200px;
    overflow:auto
    }
    .test img{position:relative;}
