    Getting mySQL database online

i may seem retarded for asking this but who cares. i recently started to learn mySQL and i have completed my first database. its only a very simple one but i want to know how i get it online as i have it up and running on my own webserver (apache) at the moment. i have a host that supports mySQL but i have no idea how to implement it online.

    any help is greatly appreciated

    thanx...

Do you have phpmyadmin on your host (and your local machine for that matter). If you do on both, you can dump your data from your local machine to your host. But if you don't have phpmyadmin (which I doubt) you have to do something a bit different...

    Does your host offer Telnet/SSH?

OK two things to look at. I suggest you have a look at your personal control panel, which will have your MySQL manager. It will more than likely have something like "Built in database manager -- phpmyadmin", or failing that poke around looking for Telnet or SSH (Shell) access.

If none of that helps contact your support dept at www.hostgosupport.com.
