    link in hierarchical menu

    From a JavaScript hierarchical menu configuration, the normal link paths work fine (folder/category.htm), but adding #placeonthepage -- in order to link to <A NAME="placeonthepage"></A> -- has no affect. I hope this is a basic JavaScript mistake, but I haven't been able to find an answer. Thanks for any help.

    yo yo fella, basicly what maelstrom is saying:
    toss us some excerps from your code...
    other than that,...
    i am POSITIVE i made a very similiar hierarchical tree the other day using similiar code...
    i bought my source from mmartins, but basicly the same idea,
    the one i used created each node as having a link in it, with that target being the other frame on the page, if you are trying to reach #anchors, it should work, check to make sure you are referencing your target in the correct manner depending on what browser:
    consider this:
    where var target is an int corresponding to what browser was detected
    case 'ie4':
    browserVersion = 1 //IE4
    break;
    case 'nn4'
    browserVersion = 2 //NS4
    break;
    case 'gecko':
    browserVersoin = 3 //NS6
    break;
    default:
    browserVersion = 0; //OPERA AND FRIENDS
    break;
    WHEN SETTING ANCHORS
    if(target == 0)
    linky = " '" +deLink+"' target=\"baseFrame\""
    else if(target == 1)
    linky = " '"+deLink+"' target=_blank"
    else
    linky = " '"+deLink+"' target=\"baseFrame\""

    deLink being the sent reference, linky being the constructed <a> tag and baseFrame being the other frame set for the targeted anchor
    good luck
    remember to update us on status of project!!
    PEACE
