    Delphi for PHP

I found this on the Net http://www.codegear.com/products/delphi/php, I haven't download the trial version, I'm going to do this definetely, but from what I read and saw (http://dn.codegear.com/video/php) it seems to be a PHP port of their VCL library that is used for Windows programming that is much better than MFC, in terms of web development programming with Delphi for PHP resembles ASP.NET by incorpating an event-driven design, although I don't imply that it's a PHP clone of ASP.NET, no it's not, but it's a PHP port of event-driven Windows programming.

Whoa! I have to try this, looks really interesting. I used to work as a Delphi programmer before I moved to PHP and web applications. IDE of Delphi is one of the best there is. Thanks for the info.

I'm not so sure about the code that it generates, it's kind of messy. I would like to see them using something like Prado, Swat and other libraries to do what they are trying to do.

On the other hand, they are talking about RAD, and yes, you can rapidly develop an application with something like this, but what about SAM? Slow application maintenance? (I just made that word up :P)

It is interesting, but at least the current version is far away from good usability... Btw the VCL4PHP library itselft is open-source: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vcl4php

I have always been a big fan of Delphi. But I cannot quite imagine PHP and Delphi as a marriage.

i played with trial version many months back.
Found many bugs, but found it very easy to use and has great potential.

I have been using delphi 1 - 2007, so i could be biased.
