help!

i just went to someones webpage and when i tried to take one of their pictures a little box popped up and said that i couldnt take it. i wanna put stuff in my webpage without people taking my stuff. does anybody kno how to do it?plz i really need this.. thanx a bunch

It is achieved with JavaScript, but as Andrew said, is entirely pointless. Whenever you visit a site a copy of all images exists on your hdd, it's just a matter of knowing how to get them - and it's not rocket science.

JavaScripts such as the one you mention indicate lack of web dev experience and understanding and if anything will detract from the quality of any site you develop.

Also, please use a descriptive thread title when you post. "HELP!" doesn't really tell people what the problem is and it's actually somewhat annoying. You make it appear that there is something urgently wrong when all you need is a script.

I have seen a few sites where you right click and view source, and its just an empty file.

How is this done?

Sometimes they use frames to try and trick people.

I dont think so as i would have a some html to show frames.

Instead nothing comes up. I cant mention any websites at the moment, as its been a select few sites that are like this.

I think they were database driven sites if that helps.

Its not possible to hide client-side code. Some times folks will put the code way down on the bottom or off to the right of the page to make it look like nothing is there.

is it posible to cover the screen with an invisible layer. And call the javascript for that layer from the normal page to hide everything. As i know you can change the opacity of things.

Hows that done btw?
