Question about Google and 302 Redirect!

If a page is being redirected to homepage using 302 right after creation, will Google index that page or not?

I see one of the sponsor I promote started redirecting affiliate tracking URLs to homepage using 302 redirects, for example www.site.com/?rid=xxxx is being redirected to www.site.com after setting tracking cookie.

I am not much sure of its results in Google. What I want to have my page www.site.com/?rid=xxxx indexed in Google, even if its being 302'd toward the homepage.

Can someone shed some light on 302 and take of search engines on it, in simple words?

The 302 redirect forces the Search Engines to index the resulting URL, not the redirected one. That's the point of the 302 redirect.

You might want to use a 301 redirect which is safer than 302 redirect (permanent move instead of temporary move).
