IE6 is crashing my css party.

I am redesigning a website for the biomedical and health sciences institute at uga but have run into a problem with IE6. It works correctly in all other browsers that I have tested and it is Valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS.

Ive attached an image of how it is displayed in IE6.
The website is at www.biomed.uga.edu/test/index.shtml

It appears that my bottom and middle background image is not being displayed at all or is being overlapped by my top content background image. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as I am at a dead end.
