    Looking for download link for Instant Rails

    Tried the ones listed in resources, and googled it none of them work...

    Any helpers out there?

    It's available on RubyForge.

    Personally, unless you only want a very quick look at Rails, I'd recommend you install the components separately. It is very straight-forward to do so on Windows.

    First download and run the One-Click Ruby Installer (also available from RubyForge) making sure you have the option to install Gems or RubyGems selected, and reboot. This will install Ruby for you and the reboot will allow the path settings to populate.

    Then at the command prompt enter:
    Code:
    gem install rails --include-dependencies
    That will install Rails for you.

    Then you just need to install a database such as MySQL and you are away. I would also recommend that on Windows, you install the MySQL Admin tools too.

    That's enough to get you started. Rails has its own webserver (WeBrick or Mongrel), which are fine for initial development. You can add Apache (or another web server) at a later date.
