That is the case always I think. You see detail of course. The impact is better and the distraction of the surrounding stuff is diminished.
Each picture should have its own page. Look how a gallery or museum is displaying art work: far apart, space for each piece to breath, neutral color to hang the picture on as not to distract. That gives the viewer maximum focus.

Hi -
Yeah, it's such a fleshy beastie - with sparkles in sunlight.
One of the most consistent bloomers I've ever had!
[Wait, that sounds funny...]

Another orchid lover
I grow mine outdoors here in Florida, they come and go, I mostly just let them be and not pamper them too much. I often cut a stem or two, stick them into some petty leafy something and have them on the dining table. They last so very long.
What a joy they are. I have painted many pictures with them in it, taken their wonderful exotic patterns and used them as base to grow new patterns, ever changing until no resemblance was detectable any longer.
But I stray …
Nice to talk to you LJK, hope to see you in theses thread more often

That is true, there are too many things to like and to know also. I have just had a lifelong love for plants and flowers and often incorporated them into my pictures as symbolic representation. I had to learn a lot about specific flowers to use them the right way, as not to have contradictions worked in.
I also learn in spurts. I get interested and devour. That gives me deeper knowledge and appreciation also, and over a life that adds up

To me the "ideal beauties" tend to be flora & fauna...
I get interested and devour.
But posting time seems to get shorter and shorter - -
like the days!

Flora and fauna are beautiful, but I find beauty in all corners of life. A shadow, a reflection, a curve, sun melting water, a hand, an eye, a wrinkle, peeling paint. The list goes on forever.
I think I take delight in detail so much, that often I forget where the root of the detail lies, just the detail standing on its own. Life is so very rich, there is always something to marvel at, to capture, even if only in your mind

These don't begin to rival some of the pictures here, but this is one of the many spiders we have living in the house. He was hanging out one day.
