are border widths included?

are border widths included in the width or is it added?

say i have a 1 pixel border. if i specify a width of 150px is it 150 pixels of white space + 2 border, so 152? or is it 148 white space + 2 border = 150?

Added, so your total is 152px. The width setting is the width available for content.
